This is episode 12.  It’s Round Four of The Americans in Scotland Roundtable. And emotionally, this is the big one.  It’s a conversation about the Old Course with my Scottish Golf Trip companions, Fred and Matt Chaney.

We spend an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out how to describe the Old Course experience. It’s arguably the most famous golf course in the world, the one bucket list course that is almost universally available to the any golfer. Playing golf at the Old Course is the much more the conclusion of a pilgrimage much more so than simply a golf destination.

At the end of the round at The Old Course, there was a sense of satisfaction, of finality, of accomplishment. It’s one of the most special places in all of golf. Get there when you can, if you can, you’ll not regret it, as our stories will convey.
