Good podcast..I’m in the Western region and would recommend Miller Memorial. Home of the Racer golf team..about 5 miles east of Murray. Hurdzan design with 2 very distinct 9s. Limited budget but always an enjoyable place to play. Plenty of good food options in downtown Paducah or Knoths BBQ in Kuttawa.
Also just across the state line in Tennessee around Paris Landing State park I’ve been told they are re-opening the Tennesseean. Opened in the late 90s was an unbelievable place to play but fell into money issues early and often. Would live it see it get back in its feet.
It’s Old Hickory vs Moonlite in Owensboro. Think you called it Oak Restaurant..apologies if I misunderstood you. You mentioned Vic National so speaking of Southern Ind golf there is an early Tom Doak course if you are into that kind of thing. It’s not Pac Dunes but might be worth a stop. Quail Crossing I believe is the name.
🤦♂️ You’re right about Old Hickory (I’m so embarrassed, The Oak is in Louisville at The Seelbach). My dad was always Team Moonlight, so he he’s probably chuckling pretty good right now.
